Now taking new mandates
The firm

Siddwell, an AI investment bank for small and midsize companies.

An AI investment bank uses software for the repetitive work of a deal and a banker for the judgment. For a privately held US company doing about $1 million to $100 million in revenue, that is what makes a full process possible. The software does not replace the person who negotiates the price.

Siddwell is an AI-native investment bank for privately held US companies with $1M to $100M in revenue, doing sell-side M&A and capital advisory.

[The job]

What the phrase means.

The companies in the middle have a recurring problem. They need capital, and they take the one number their bank gives them. Or they are ready to sell, and a bulge-bracket bank will not staff the assignment, so the introduction they get is a short list of buyers worked one at a time. Neither is a process. A process means the market is mapped and the parties compete.

Doing that used to take a floor of analysts. Research, buyer and investor lists, first drafts of the materials, and the chase for documents are repetitive. Software can do that volume. It cannot decide what the company is worth in a negotiation, and it cannot hold the relationship with you or with the other side of the table. An AI investment bank is that split: banker-led, software-run.

The band is specific. Privately held companies in the United States with about $1 million to $100 million in revenue. Manufacturers, distributors, service businesses, the trades. Not a startup raising a seed round, and not a public-company assignment.

[Two mandates]

A sale, or a raise.

Sell-side M&A is the sale. A full exit, a majority sale that leaves you running the company beside a new partner, or a division sold on its own. The market includes private equity, strategic acquirers, family offices, search funds, independent sponsors, and international buyers. They are taken out together.

Capital advisory is the raise. An acquisition, a building the company will occupy, a construction project, equipment, working capital, a refinance, or a partner buyout. Banks, SBA lenders, private credit, and asset specialists see the same deal. SBA 7(a) and 504 financing is a lender path inside that raise when the program fits. It is not a loan Siddwell makes. The use of proceeds picks the page, starting with buying a company.

The banker

The calls that set the price, the negotiation, and the relationships.

The software

Research, lists, first-draft materials, and document chasing.

Sell-side

A competitive sale.

Capital advisory

A competitive raise.

[The distinction]

Software is not a broker.

Loan-broker software finds lenders and helps submit applications. A business loan broker, in the ordinary sense, shops a loan and is often paid a fee for a placement. That is a different job from advising a company through a competitive raise. The comparison is on the capital advisor and loan broker page. Siddwell does not hold itself out as that broker.

Business-broker software drafts a teaser and emails a short list. The sale Siddwell runs is sell-side M&A: the buyer market in one process, with a banker accountable for the negotiation. How that differs from business brokering is its own page, investment bank versus business broker.

The first conversation is a person. The CEO takes it. It costs nothing, and it is not a commitment. It is a read on whether there is a process worth running. If the company is not one the firm should take, that is the answer you should hear.

[The firm]

What Siddwell is and isn't.

Siddwell is an investment bank for privately held US companies doing about $1 million to $100 million in revenue. A banker owns the deal. Software does the volume: research, the list of buyers or lenders, first-draft materials, and document chasing. The calls, the negotiation, and the relationships stay with the banker.

Siddwell is not a lender, not a licensed loan broker, and not a business broker. Lenders fund loans. Buyers buy companies. If a direct introduction to SBA lenders is all you want, the SBA's Lender Match tool does that, and you apply with the lender.

You will not find a deal tally, a league table, or a client quote on this page. Those are not published, so they are not invented here. The buyer counts in the homepage process diagram are marked illustrative. Treat them that way.

What does Siddwell do as an AI investment bank?

Siddwell advises a privately held US company on a sale or a financing. A banker owns the deal. Software does the research, the buyer or lender list, the first drafts, and the document chasing. The software does not negotiate the price. Siddwell is not a lender, not a loan broker, and not a business broker.

Does the software negotiate the price?

No. Software does research, lists, first drafts, and document chasing. The banker makes the calls, runs the negotiation, and holds the relationships.

Is this loan-broker software?

No. Capital advisory puts lenders in competition. The lender makes the loan. Siddwell is not a lender and not a licensed loan broker.

Is this business-broker software?

No. The sale is sell-side M&A. A short list worked one name at a time is a different product.

What size company is this for?

Privately held US companies doing about $1 million to $100 million in revenue.
